Silicon Alley Venture Partners ("SAVP") was originally founded in 1998 to focus on early growth investing in Technology Enabled and Business Information Services (TES/BIS) companies primarily located in the greater Tri-State Area from eastern Pennsylvania to northern Connecticut.
TES/BIS is the next logical step in the maturation of the information technology industry. As opposed to creating entirely new technology, TES/BIS companies leverage existing technology to solve business problems or create substantially improved efficiencies.
Additionally, the Tri-State region is the headquarters to over 30% of the Fortune 500 and has a strong focus on some of the largest industries including financial services, media, publishing, information services, retail and pharmaceuticals. The region is a rich environment for entrepreneurs to offer technology enabled services and business information services to these industries. In fact, we find that many of the entrepreneurs we back have deep domain expertise in one or more of these areas.

Our Value Add
SAVP is an entrepreneur-centric fund. We believe great entrepreneurs and talented managers make for extraordinary success. Period. SAVP has a strong track record in identifying, recruiting, assessing and coaching talented entrepreneurs and managers, particularly in the TES/BIS sector.
We strive to work actively with entrepreneurial managers in our portfolio companies to do all we can to help build highly successful businesses. Through strategic planning and identifying and introducing quality co-investors, follow-on investors and exit partners, SAVP is able to help get portfolio companies to the next level of growth. In addition, we can often draw on our relationships and experience in the TES/BIS sector to help the management teams achieve key customer account acquisition as needed. Though we are not part of the management team, we work very closely with our portfolio companies as advisors and members of the board of directors.
We also provide value beyond our core investment team through our Venture Advisors and Venture Partners. This extended team has deep experience, proven success and a strong focus on TES/BIS companies.
